Friday, 22th March 2013 11.20 AM This morning, Mr. Akhmad announced that 10 nominants officially to be a part of SEMS Assistant. SEMS is one of the lab in IE building. SEMS as Systems Engineering Modeling and Simulation was build around 1998. Honestly, after I became part of IEUI and tour lab in my freshman year, I am so interested to join SEMS lab. That’s why it’s one my motivation to get it. Alhamdulillah :D For more info about SEMS, you can get more to know in

Lovely Readers

Bonne Année 2013 a tous ...
Now, i want to share about my college in University of Indonesia. UI or we also known as University of Indonesia, it takes place in Depok, West Java. One of those faculty in there is Engineering. There consists of some part: electrical, mechanical, metalurgy and material, architecture, interior architecture, civil, bioprocess technology, chemical, computer, naval, environment, and the last one industrial.
I am one of the part Industrial Engineering (IE). FYI, IE discipline itself is a unique engineering discipline which already required the multidisciplinary approach in.
In general, IE concerned with design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering, to specify, predict and evaluate the results to be obtained from such a system.
Nowadays, I become sophomore. In my 2nd year, there were a lot of subjects that i took. there were 3 part compositions:
1.       Basic University Courses
2.       Engineering Core Courses
3.       IE Core Courses
Well, i will review one by one, from number 1: Basic University Courses
It has 4 subjects:
1.       MPK University Integrated Courses with Mr. Slamet Soemiarno
2.        English with Mrs Hetty Hartati Novita
3.        Arts and Sports. I took art class, specifically Batik class with Mrs. Nany
4.        and Religion with Mr. Mujilan
Number 2: Engineering Core Courses
It has 7 subjects:
1.       Calculus with Mrs Sarini Abdullah
2.       Linear Algebra with Mr Arie Wibowo
3.       Heat and Mechanic Physics + practicum with Mr Dwi Seno
4.       Electromagnetism, wave, and optical physics + practicum with Mr Sutarto

5.       Basic Computer Logic and Programming with Mrs Mia
Purpose: Basic capability of computer programming to develop logical thinking.

6.       Statistic and Probability with Mrs Arian Dhini
Purpose: Able to organize and process raw data to information for decision making

7.       Engineering Ethics with Mr Tris Budiono
Number 3: IE Core Courses
It has a lot of subjects, but until now (3rd semester) Here it is list of subjects that i took:
1.       Introduction to Industrial Engineering with Prof Yuri Zagloel
Purpose: Early understanding about the Industrial Engineering Discipline scope and contributions, which includes concepts, methods and tools and how it relates to each other.

2.       Material Science with Mrs Bondan
Purpose: Students will be able to know about the properties, capabilities, characteristics, and usage of materials that they will use in the production process.

3.       Engineering Drawing with Mr Armand Omar Moeis
Purpose: Able to read, interpret and transfer engineering drawing according to the ISO standards and drawings principles.

4.       Introduction to Economics with Mrs Isti
Purpose: Introduce the scope of economics science and business as an integral part of human activities to survive.

5.       Cost Accounting with Mrs Arian Dhini
Purpose: Course participants will undertand accounting principle and able to calculate accounting problems systemtically and present them as a financial report. They should also be able to predict the conditions of the company based on those reports.

6.       Engineering Economy with Mr Rully and Wisnu
Purpose: Course Participant would be able to use and implement cost concept and analysis when evaluating a proposed engineering solutions or projects.

7.       Engineering Mechanics with Mr Amar
Purpose: understanding about the concepts of stress and balance working in various types of construction, so they would be able to calculate and analysis the balance based on static equilibrium law.

Purpose: Course participant will have knowledge and skills about the basic principle of effective and efficient communications based on common professional ethics values.
For next semester, i will take the obligatory subject likes:
13.   Human Factors in Engineering and Design + Practicum
Purpose: Course participants will have the knowledge and ability to analyze and design a human machine interaction and its workplace

14.   Maintenance Systems
Purpose: understanding the important aspects in the maintenance system management and the type of approach that is currently used in the industry.

15.   Industrial Statistics + Practicum
Purpose: able to organize the collection, process, and analysis of data using statistic and engineering principle to support decision making process, with the emphasize on DOE - Design of Experiment

16.   Production Planning and Inventory Control + Practicum
Purpose: able to analysis, design, implement and evaluate an integrated production planning and control system by controlling information flow, scheduling of production resources and internal processes, resulting a high quality product at the right time and the right cost.

17.   Operations Research
Purpose: understand and implement optimization by using mathematical model to solve engineering and management problems that could be converted to deterministic and stochastic quantitative model
